Lindy Promotions, DC101, and Miller Lite just announced this year’s 12th annual Downtown Countdown New Year’s Eve gala will return to the Grand Hyatt, Washington, and once again set the standard in live entertainment and service.
After $8 million in renovation, the Grand Hyatt will be dressed for the event, complete with a 5-hour premium open bar, upscale hors d’oeuvres, and multiple rooms of entertainment featuring 3 bands, 4 DJs, 5 comedians, dancing, karaoke, and DC’s largest midnight balloon drop.
“There is no better way to ring in the New Year than with exceptional food, tempting beverages, and great music in DC’s most current and up to date contemporary party space,” says Gene Hunt, the Grand Hyatt’s Director of Catering.
This year will feature live performances by Cowboy Mouth (DC101’s “Kegs & Eggs” headliners), Pat McGee Band (local favorites and Downtown Countdown Alumni), and Gonzo’s Noze (DC’s premier cover band.)
Other areas of the newly renovated Hyatt will play host to DJs, nightclub dancing, comedians, and karaoke. Guests will also enjoy no lines at multiple buffets, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and premium bar stations at a ratio of 1 bartender per 75 guests. DC101’s Elliot in the Morning and the Class will be hosting and broadcasting live from the party. “For New Years, people always seem to get it wrong, spend way too much on crowded bars, lame parties, bad music and it becomes a waste of money, says Pat McGee, one of this year’s performer back by popular demand.
Lindy Promotions gets it right every year. All of our fans have nothing but amazing memories of great times at a 5-star and safe throw down.” VIP ticketholders will enjoy their own will call, registration, entrance, complimentary coat check, and extra half-hour of open bar. They will gain access to the Grand Cafe in the Hyatt's atrium and Penn Quarter, the Hotel's new and unique space near the open lagoon, offering a more upscale bar and dinner menu, and private acoustic sets by each of the evening’s performers.
